Wengen ski resort: at the foot of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau

Powder snow, steep slopes, World Cup atmosphere & more

The mountain village of Wengen is a popular ski resort in the Bernese Oberland region located at the foot of the Swiss mountains Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The ski destination is also the venue of the FIS Ski Lauberhorn Race – held since 1930. The ski runs in Wengen come in an impressive diversity and invite you to try a variety of winter sports.

Speaking of diversity: At Wengen ski resort, long, steep or gentle slope sections are waiting for you, but there are also several freeride spots with plenty of “pow”. The off-piste slopes no. 5 and no. 14 in Wengen are particularly beautiful and only open for skiing from the second day after fresh snowfall. This minimises the risk of avalanches. We can confirm: It's worth the wait!

More about the ski resort

From Wengen ski resort, the Männlichen cable car takes you up to the summit of Männlichen (2,342 meters above sea level). That’s where a slope eldorado opens up to you – with numerous downhill runs and a fantastic backdrop. You can swoosh and swerve down the slopes or ski them at a leisurely pace, and then: How about a detour to idyllic Grindelwald ski resort?

The Eiger Express takes you from Grindelwald to Eiger Glacier. From the top station, you can then take the World Cup run on Lauberhorn back to Wengen. Our tip: Before you continue exploring the slopes, you can send greetings to your friends back home. There’s a photo point on Lauberhorn: Simply scan your ski pass, take a photo, and send it!
