We are committed to making our website intersportrent.at accessible in accordance with the Accessibility Act as amended, which implements the European Accessibility Directive (Directive (EU) 2019/882) concerning accessibility requirements for products and services.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 have been followed as far as possible.
1. Non-accessible content
The following content and functionalities of the website intersportrent.at are currently not fully accessible and therefore do not comply with the requirements of the WCAG 2.1 Level AA:
Non-compliance with accessibility requirements
Navigation menu: The submenu items in the main navigation cannot currently be accessed using a keyboard or screen reader; only the main menu items are reachable. In addition, key functions such as customer account and shopping cart are displayed solely as icons without descriptive labels. As a result, screen reader users cannot determine the purpose of these icons. The accessibility optimization of the menu is already in progress and will be implemented shortly.
Tooltips for advantages and shop opening hours: These additional information elements (tooltips) are currently not detected or read aloud by screen readers, making them inaccessible for users with visual impairments.
Contact form and product inquiry form: These forms do not currently meet accessibility standards. A barrier-free implementation is already in progress.
Ratings on shop pages: Customer reviews are displayed graphically using star ratings. This information is not prepared for screen readers and is therefore inaccessible to blind or visually impaired users.
Booking widget: The central booking component for selecting location, rental period, and number of renting persons is not fully accessible. Due to its repeated integration on various pages of the website, a barrier-free implementation is technically complex and resource-intensive. Optimization is currently underway.
Reservation process: Certain steps in the reservation process contain barriers and are not fully accessible. Examples include adding a product to the shopping cart, changing the rental date, or completing personal data after finalizing a reservation. Improvements are underway.
Heading structure: The correct semantic structure of headings (e.g., H1, H2, H3) is not consistently followed on all pages, which complicates navigation using assistive technologies. Structural revision is in progress.
Alternative text for images: Not all images on the website have meaningful alternative texts (alt tags). As a result, screen readers cannot reliably interpret or communicate the content of images. The missing alt tags are currently being added gradually.
Map view of all shops: The interactive map displaying all available INTERSPORT Rent shops is currently not accessible. Users who rely on screen readers or keyboard navigation cannot access the information provided in the map view.
A relaunch of the website is currently in planning. In this context, certain accessibility issues that would involve significant technical or economic effort to resolve will no longer be addressed in the current system. Instead, the new development will focus on ensuring a barrier-free implementation to provide a better and more inclusive user experience in the long term.
2. Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on June 12, 2025.
The assessment of the website's compliance with the Accessibility Act was conducted as a self-evaluation based on WCAG 2.2.

3. Enforcement procedure
If the response from the above contact is not satisfactory, you may file a complaint with the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). The FFG accepts complaints filed online via the electronic contact form.
The FFG will examine whether the complaint relates to violations of the Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz (WZG), particularly to failure on the part of the federal government or associated institutions to comply with the accessibility requirements
If the complaint is justified, the FFG will make recommendations for action to the federal government or the legal entities concerned and propose measures designed to remedy the problem.
