Schladming

Ski in Schladming

It sounds modest: 4 mountains skiing circuit. But behind that is a skiing area in Styria that is definitely worth seeing. After all, the 2013 Alpine Ski World Cup took place there, and the annual Schladming World Cup Night Slalom is also very popular. But it is mostly the early start of snowmaking at low altitudes of 750 to 800 metres that brings so many visitors to Schladming.
The slopes are very varied, meet every demand and entice visitors to extensive carving. The 4 mountains ski circuit of Schladming connects the four largest skiing mountains in Styria - Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm.

The small contemplative town of Schladming itself has a pretty centre and a wide range of culinary and accommodation offers for all wallet sizes.

Après-ski and night life are not neglected either. The rustic mega entertainment temple Hohenhaus Tenne is located directly next to the Planai-Bahn valley station.

A special attraction takes place between December and March: skiing and snowboard instructors and other participants present special tricks based on the theme of music, show and action.

And if you want the impressive mountain landscape to inspire you, simply watch an episode of the  Austrian TV series “Die Bergretter” (The Mountain Rescue Men); it is shot in Ramsau am Dachstein and the surrounding mountains.
