Ski in Flachau

In Flachau, the future has already arrived. With the hyper-modern name Snow Space, Flachau is taking part in the contest for the most popular skiing areas. Absolute snow guarantee, endless slope fun, a traditional passion for winter sports and a lot of action: that is what Flachau, in the district of St. Johann (Pongau) in the province of Salzburg, stands for.

Flachau won seven awards in the Ski Area Test 2014-15. This is really impressive and is probably due to the wide, perfectly maintained slopes, spacey lifts, great accessibility via the Tauern motorway and the free ski bus from the city of Salzburg.

The Alpine Ski World Cup has been a guest here for over 20 years, and stars such as Hermann Maier like to visit Flachau once in a while. The women’s World Cup slalom “Ladies Ski Night” is the event highlight in mid January.

Apart from the main activity - skiing, that is - lots of winter athletes also enjoy Flachau for of its huge selection of rustic, stylish, traditional or modern ski huts. Because the Snow Space is also light years ahead as a party and après-ski location.
