Ski in Sölden

Ski World Cup, James Bond and 3 three thousand meter summits

One of the most popular skiing and snowboard centres in Europe shows off with its very special record: the international ski metropolis in Tyrol is the only skiing area in Austria to possess 3 three thousand meter summits with spectacular viewing platforms accessible by lift. In this alpine hotspot, everyone will find his or her very own highlight.

And by the way, Sölden is sexy. Period. That is at least what the makers of the James Bond film “Spectre” think, since they found Sölden to be a “fantastic place” to shoot the film.

Who knows? Maybe you’ll see James Bond eating shredded pancakes in the new designer restaurant IceQ, which is connected to the summit by a direct hanging bridge.

And of course, everybody talks about Sölden because it is a venue of the Ski World Cup. In October, the stars of alpine racing celebrate the World Cup’s kickoff on the Rettenbach glacier high above Sölden. And ladies first: it is a tradition that women open the winter world championship season with the first giant slalom. The next day, it is the men’s turn to race through the blue and red poles.
